Video Players

Last updated 11 months ago

The software currently supports a number of different video players both free and commercial. This configuration allows the administrator to which video players are available, their configuration and the default to be displayed on each service.

If more than one video player is enabled, the Customer will be able to select their preferred from the Media Service page. If a license key is required for a Video Player (i.e., JWPlayer & Flowplayer), then the Customer is able to input their own license key from the Media Service Overview page.

Default Media Players

The administrator can define the default player to use for Audio Only (Shoutcast restream) and Video services.

Other Video Players

The MediaCP currently provides other video players that can be enabled.

Please note that the integration for other players listed on the Video Players tab, and this page, are being deprecated and may be removed in the future. The reason for the deprecation and removal is to reduce complexity in maintaining several players and instead focus development resources on drastically improving the Iframe Player.

Iframe Player

The Iframe player is a simple, customised version of VideoJS Player in order to provide a simple, one-line embed code for customers. Generally it is easier for Customers to use the Iframe player and embed it into their website, because it requires little to no coding experience.

The Iframe player is selected by default and is the recommended Audio & Video Player.

VideoJS Player

The VideoJS Player provides the complete source code of the streaming service with VideoJS Player. It is a great starting point for users who may want to customise the video player themselves.

Clappr

Clappr is a free open-source player provided by Clapprr.io.

Flowplayer

Flowplayer requires a Self-Hosted / Standalone Player plan. You must provide your Flowplayer license key in order to use this player.

JW Player Cloud

JW Player is a popular commercial video and audio HTML5 media player that supports HLS streaming cross-platform.

An Enterprise license is required to use this player with videos outside of the jwplayer network.

You can obtain the Cloud Player Library URL from your JWPlayer Account.

JW Player

This is the self-hosted player for JW Player. The self-hosted player files and license key are on the Player Downloads & Keys page in your JW Player dashboard.

Wowza Player

Wowza Player has been deprecated by Wowza Streaming Engine and will be removed from the MediaCP.
